Install DataMoat

Start importing ChatGPT exports and backing up AI work history on macOS, Windows, or Linux.

Mac users should start with the signed macOS DMG. Windows users can use the ZIP + DataMoat.exe packages. You can run DataMoat.exe directly, and if you want DataMoat to launch at sign-in run Install DataMoat.cmd once. Linux and development installs can use the source path. After setup, DataMoat backs up supported ChatGPT exports, sessions, skills, and attachments on-device before they disappear, then lets you review them with annotations, bookmarks, and message votes.

Source install

Use source install for Linux, local development, or macOS fallback when the packaged build is unavailable.

After install

Complete password, authenticator, recovery phrase, and recovery-code setup on the protected desktop.
Run datamoat status to check capture state.
Run datamoat scan when you want to force a rescan of supported source files.
Run datamoat audit verify to verify current local audit chain integrity.
Use the local UI after unlock to review and search protected work traces.
